4] Recent Activities, Photos, with details:

Physics Departmental   Activities in the year  [2005-06  ]

 

   The year 2005 marks the World Year of Physics [WYP] . This is an exemplary gesture of the world scientific community to   commemorate the 100th year of Einstein theory of Relativity.  Actually it’s hounored for entire Physics community throughout the world.  On this occasions the department of Physics carried out several activities in order to reach the motive of WYP. Department of Physics carried out following activities for the students.

 

a]On the eve of World Year of Physics-05. The Department of Physics organised Guest Lecture   of Dr .Gandhi on 6th Oct-05 Dr.P.R.Gandhi, has delivered a lecturer on, “Nanotechology”   which   is the emerging  field  of  science.

b]The students seminar on the noble prize winning Photo electric effect , of Albert Einstein. has been arranged in Dept of Physics on 20th Dec-05 .

c]The students' Quiz & Elocution on ‘Quantum Mechanics & Work of Albert Einstein’ has   been arranged in Dept of Physics on  21st Dec-05 .

*d] In order reach the Concept of general theory of relativity and its out-reach to research level students, teaching faculty and local public, the Dept of Physics organized the  Poster& Science Exhibition, also Rangoli Exhibition as medium to represent various discoveries of Physics & Science  Exhibition during   BhauSaheb Jayanti Mahostav celebrated between 24 Dec 2005 to 27-  Dec-2005 . The Science  Exhibition inaugurated  by Prof . Pundkar[Ex.. H.O.D. Physics Dept]

e]  A guest lecture has been organised by Dept of Physics, Akola on 16th Jan06.

    Eminent Scientist from Bhabha Atomic Research Center[BARC] Mumbai,& Former Head of Spectroscopy &Radiochemistry division Dr.A.G.Page invited on this occasion. Dr. Page delivered a lecturer on “ Atomic energy and related areas of   applications”

 

f] “National Science Day” celebrated on 28/2/2006 in the Dept of Physics.

 

 

1] Prof.R.V.Salodkar , Head Dept of Physics, received a Minor Research Project form UGC,Delhi in this year.

2]Prof. S.M.Palhade, Lecturer in Physics, submitted a Minor Research Project on

FDTD,modelling of patch antenna in Aug-2005

3]Prof.R.V.Salodkar ,Head Dept of Physics, attended,National Conference on Luminescence  and its applications7-9 Feb-2006.held at Amravati.

Physics Departmental   Activities in the year  [2006-07  ]

 

a]On the eve of Hiroshima Day, the department of physics organized the ceremony to pay the homage and tribute   to the victims of Hiroshima & Nagasaki who lost their lives due to Atomic Bomb explosion in world war II. On this eve, Principal Dr. S. G. Bhadange was the president of the function. At the outset, all the dignitaries lit the Candles & pay homage to victims . Prof. V. M. Patil was the guest of honour and also presented a documentary on Hiroshima Day with the help of LCD projector in front of students. The programme was concluded with the speech of President & followed by vote of thanks.

 b] The Physics Society was founded and inaugurated  by the hands Principal     Dr. S. G. Bhadange on   21 Sept 2006.

c] The Department of Physics organised Guest Lecture   of Dr .Chinmay Damle  (NCL Pune)     on 9th Oct -06.Dr. .Chinmay Damle, has delivered a lecturer on, “NanoSciences”   which    is the emerging  field  of  science.

d] The Seminar competition for U.G. college students has been organized first time in the  history of college under the convener ship of Prof. R. V. Salodkar. This Seminar Competition   was held during Aug-2006 to Dec-2006.

e] Zamir Quazi and Waseem Shaikh of B.Sc. III physics students participated in Five Day  Work Shop in “Physics Communication” held at Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education  Mumbai, organized by Jidnyasa Trust Thane during 9 th to 13 th Oct 2006.

f] The Science Exhibition for college students has been organized jointly first time in

 the history of college under the convener ship of Prof. R. V. Salodkar. This Science Exhibition   was held between  Dec 25 to Dec-27, 2006  during BhauSaheb Jayanti Mahostav .
g] Mr. M. G. Ramteke, B.Sc. Part I Physics Student participated in “Intercollegiate” Seminar  Competition held on 3 rd Jan 2007 at SSKR Innani Mahavidyalaya, Karanja, Dist. Washim.
h] The Department of Physics organized Guest Lecture   of Mr. Mahesh Kakde (Trinity College , Cambridge University, England.) on 8th Jan -07.He has delivered a lecturer on, “Prime Numbers”  and unsolved problems of math’s and Physics.

i]  Miss. Beena S. Chandak ,M.Sc. I Physics student has been selected for best student    of S.G.B. Amravati University. Governor of Maharashtra Hon’ble Mr. S. M. Krishna    felicitated Miss. Beena Chandak on the eve of National Youth Day, 8 th Jan 2007.
