1st August 2006 : Visit to Entrepreneurship

            To inculcate the entrepreneurial tendency in Home Science students, it is necessary to expose the actual   working condition of entrepreneurship to the students. With this view  a visit was arranged one of the center run by Ms. Pooja Gandhi at Adarsh Colony, Akola.

Ms. Pooja Gandhi is hard worker and sincere entrepreneur, making various beautiful articles and machine embroidery by applying her own novel concepts. She has become popular within a short period of time amongst ladies. She also developed ideas about making best out of the waste which was liked by our students very well.

Students raised the questions like – About how much time does it takes to prepare? , Do People appreciate the work?, How much profit can we get out of this work ? Students got satisfied answers from Ms. Pooja Gandhi.

The aim to visit the entrepreneurship center was fully satisfied.

03rd August 2006 : Breast Feeding Week

 

                        The Home Science students were participated in the competition for  Weaning Food for babies” held at Indian Medical Association Hall. The members of IBFO arranged it.

The competition was held at 03:00 pm on 3rd August during breast feeding week. Four entries from B. Sc. I, II, III & M. Sc. I (H.D.) students were participated in the event. The students of home science department won all the 4 Prizes from different groups. The recopies were liked and encouraged by the Judges Dr. Kamini Khan & Dr. Mrs. Paradkar.

The efforts were taken by home science teachers namely Dr. Jyoti Mankar, Miss Vinaya Madane, Dr. Rekha Lande & Mrs. Anjali Kaware for celebrating the Breast Feeding Week and for the competition.

 

05th September 2006 : Nutrition Week & Teacher’s Day :

 

            On the occasion of teachers day students of Home Science with the various competition and colorful programme also organized the celebration of Nutrition Week & Colour full programme mainly the Corn Food competition for teachers. The Nutritional recipes by using only corn were invited for entries. More than 15 entries were participated with different delicious and inviting dishes with attractive decoration. 

            Apart from the busy schedule the teachers of various department were participated in the competition. Mr. S. G. Shende Head of Electronics Department, Dr. S. T. Khaddakar Head  Department of Statistics were both worked as a Judges.

            Our Hon’ble Principal Dr. S. G. Bhadange distributed the Prizes. The head of department of Home Science bagged the First Prize  for her Corn – Ras- Malai recipe.

7th  September 2006 : A visit to Swami Vivekanand School, Geeta Nagar Akola.:

            Ramkrishna Mission in Akola is running various schools, charitable hospitals worship centers and Ashrams for Needy people. The Ramkrishna Mission not only working in India but its Branches we can see successfully offering there services in various countries like Russia, Paris Switzerland & America.

            In all over India there are 24 centers affiliated to Shri Ramkrishana Mission.

            Our students intended to visit Swami Vivekanand Nursery School where school Lunch programme is the scheduled. 23 children were present in the school. Our students studied the height, weight, chest and head circumference of the children and prepared personal health profiles of children. They also gone through the lunch programme and diet plans for children. General observations were also made out of observing developments of children. Students participated in formal talk with children and their teachers.

            Retired Professor Dr. Mankar delivered a speech on Spiritual Programmes organized regularly by the mission. Personality development programme is the regular activity of the mission, which is of great success told by Dr. Mankar.

            A worship center of mission was found peaceful  and worth according to the aims of Ramkrishna Mission.

 

23rd  September 2006 : Camp at Matoshri Vruddhashram :

A camp at Matoshri Vriddhasharam was organized jointly by Home Science & Sociology Department. It was intended to distribute Woolen Shawls to all the elderly people staying at similarly the Eye Check-up camp and Health Checkup  was also arranged for elderly people. Doctor Nitin Upaddhye (Eye Specialist) and Dr. Padmawati Korpe were offered their services for these people on the occasion.

A programme was started with the inaugural function presided by our principle Dr. Subhash Bhadange & Mr. Mahadevrao Bhuibhar (Ex. President of Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati.) was invited as Chief Guest of the programme.

The renowned poet Mr. Shri Krishna Raut entertained these people on the occasion by reciting their own poem.

Our Principal distributed Shawls afterward the programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Anand Kale. The affords were taken by Dr. Anand Kale, Dr. Rekha Lande,          Dr. Jyoti Mankar and the students of B. A. & B. Sc. (Home Science) to make the programme successful.

·         Dialy Wages Working Women’s Camp of Medical Checkup and Saree Distribution:

A day was organized for poor working women dated 10th April 2006. 100 such women’s were invited on the occasion at our college. The activities organized for them were eye checkup, health checkup demonstration of soup & mixed fruit Jam, intending low coast fruits & its utilization preservation with the distribution of sarees the programme was summed up.

 

·         Visited Swami Vivekanand Ashram school & charity hospital on 6th Sept. 2006 Distributed sweets & fruits to children & spend & the valuable moments with children people living at Ashram.

 

·         A visit cum educational tour was organized at Surewani forest near Earner Nagpur district on 8th & 9th Dec. 2006. Nearby people were communicated & discussed on their living condition’s  available facilities, problems & their culture. Students gathered information regarding  wild life & community living.

 

·         A visit for “Mother Teresa” home for orphans children was organized on dated ________ Biscuits & swets were distributed to children staying at center complete information regarding children were obtained from the silsters looking after there children.

 

·         Guest lecture on Yoga was organised on 29th July. The eminent speaker ‘Mansi Jain’ delivered a speech on the importance of Yoga for peaceful & healthy life.

 

One Day Workshop on flower arrangement was organized in the department in collaboration with garden club and inner wheel club, Akola on dated 18.12.2006

Celebration of Dr. Panjabrao Alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh Jayanti Utsav (24th to 27th Dec.)

Late Panjabrao Alias Bhaushaeb Deshmukh Birth Anniversary Programmes was celebrated on 24th to 27 Dec. 2007. on this occasion  Art & Craft Exhibition & Cooking Competition was arranged for students by the home Science Department.

            Students of the various department were participated in cocking competition and Home Science students taking interest in arranging the art and craft exhibition Dr. Nila Saraf Ex HOD of Home Science Department inaugurated the Art & Craft Exhibition and work as a Judge for cocking  competition our honorable principle Dr. S. G. Bhadange, Mr. N. H. Vyas EX. HOD of Commerce and Dr. Bhamburkar visited the exhibition and taste the various recipes  prepared for cocking competition. The winners of the competition were awarded Prizes on the prize distribution ceremony held on 27th January 2007.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

26th December – Anand Mela.

 

            Anand Mela was arranged by the Home Science Department on 26th December 2007 Junior Senior College and MCVC students take part in Anand Mela and prepared a delicious preparation for Sale such as Panipuri, Dahi puri, Dhokla, Idli. Pav bhaji, Potato wada , Biscuits and Cookies, each and every one of the college enjoyed with tasting various preparation made by students Ms. Bharti Mohokar Manager of Janta Bank Akola. Inaugurated Anand Mela and appreciated the students.

 

World Womens’ Day Celebration 8th March :

 

World Women’s Day was celebrated by the Home Science Department with the guidance of honorable Principle Dr. S. G. Bhadange on that occasion Pre health and eye check up camp was arranged for women and girls of Ambedkar  Nagar of  Jatharpeth, Akola. Shri Nikhilesh Diwekar Vice mayor inaugurate the camp. Dr. Padmawati Korpe Dr. Gadpal and Dr. Nira Deshmukh check up and give necessary suggestion to the women about their health, Dr. Nitin Upaddhye teacher of M.C.V.C. give their service also to check up the eyes of participants. Free medicines was distributed amongst them according to their necessity. Professor Varsh Shah & Prof. Anjali Kaware take keen interest in collecting the medicine Dr. Rekha Lande HOD  of Home Science and Mrs. Suman Meshram  arrange the camp.

·         One day conference of “Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University women Teachers”

 

Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University women Teachers – One day conference was organized on 3rd January 2007 at Vidarbha level on the event of 173rd Birth Annivarsary of Savitribai Phule was working women stress and her health and sub theme is Role of women values an social health.

Total 150 participants had attended the conference an d10 resource persons of various subjects related to the theme.

The conference was inaugurated by Hon’ble – chief guest Dr. Anuradha Vharade, Principal, Sant Gadge Baba Maharaj Mahavidyalaya, Valgaon. Honble Shri Vasantrao Dhotre, President of Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati. Other invitees like – Shri Bhojraj Chaudhari, co-director higher education, Amravati.

Hon’ble Dr. Sudhatai deshmukh, Vice-President Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravti, also graced the occasion.

·         Advance of RS. 350/- was taken to arrangement of tea preparation on the occasion of C.H.B. Interview on dated 16.07.2006 expenditure incurred is on Rs. 236. so the positive balance ils Rs. 114/-

 

·         Routine medical services offered by one of the staff member of our deptt. DR. P. S. Korpe to everyone at college regularly.

·         Free medicines are made available t non teaching staff of college & gynecological activity also provided.

·         Routine haemoglobin & blood group investigation facility is available at deptt.

·         Measurement of pulse & blood pressure urine tests are available at deptt at free of cost.

·         Psychological counseling & guidance for students on their overall problems is also available at deptt.

·         Demonstration of preserved products from locally available fruits was given to rural women of Hiwarkhed which creates entrepreneurship amongst them.

·         Various speeches delivered on our food habits and our health and awareness programme was specially arranged.

 

·         Students participated in the competition organized by BPNI society dated 3rd August 2006 at IMA Hall Akola. Demonstration various recipes for infants with low cost & high proteins, were highly appreciated by the people. The programme  was organized under “World Breast Feeding week.”

 

·         A visit organized to Homes for aged “Matoshri Vridhashram” on dated 23rd Sept. 2006. Various activities were organized by staff members & students. Eye – checkup by Dr. Nitin Upadhye & Health check-up by Dr. Padmavati Korpe was done on the occasion. The students shared their company with elderly & entertained them for the whole day.
