3. Changes made in the courses or programmes during the past five years and contribution of the faculty to those changes:
  The syllabus is designed by SGB Amravati University for the UG and PG courses. It is updated time to time considering the model syllabus of UGC. It is useful for Public Service Commission & NET/ JRF etc. The syllabus of UG was revised in 2004-05 and P.G. in 2004-05.

6. Learning resources of the department like library, computers, laboratories and other such resources:
  The department has a departmental library with over 200 text books, reference books and 5 journals. Department has a computer for the students with internet facility. The department is providing the books facilities and extending necessary guidance for the students.
7. Enhancement of the learning resources during the last five years:
  New books purchased for the departmental library and new issues of the journals are received. Staff room & Reading room is available for the staff members and P.G.students. Few new instruments are also purchased. Resource persons from other universities and national institutes have been invited to deliver special lectures for the students and staff.
8. Modern teaching methods in practice other than the lecture method:
  The faculty members are using modern teaching methods which are helping for effective teaching. Some staff members prepare their lectures on power point presentation. Poster & Charts.
  Seminars, assignment, project presentation, Group discussion etc are the general methods of student involved learning methods.
9. Participation of teachers in academic and personal counseling of students:
  All the faculty members actively participated in the academic activities and students counseling. College runs the student guardian scheme and each teacher of the department is guardian teacher for 10 to 20 students. They do the counseling of the respective group of students and solve their problems like release of scholarship, hostel problems and their academic progress. They call their parents and interact with them. Special counseling is done for weak students. The meritorious students are awarded by the teachers. College introduced new concept “The poor boys fund.” Faculty members are helping and providing uniforms, books and few cycles to poor students under this scheme.
10. Details of faculty development preogrames and teaches who benefited during the past five years;
  Newly appointed staff member has attended Orientation programme. All staff members attended national and international conferences, workshops, seminars as well as research related programmes which are benefited for their improvements.
11. Participation of teachers in academic activities other than teaching and research:
  The teachers participate in co-curricular and extra curricular activities and they do work for several activities like conferences, youth festivals and sport meets etc.
  Mr.M.U.Kulat is working as a member of L.M.C.Commttee and as a convener of consumer storage department. Mr.M.U.Kulat, Dr.R.W.Dhale and Dr.R.M.Bhise are the M.Phil.referee at YCMOU & other universities. Dr.R.M.Bhise is a in charge of cultural activities committee for current years.
  All Staff members are the members of different committees of college and SGB Amravati University, like, Paper setting, Paper moderation, paper valuation; Practical examinations. All staff members are working as resource persons (YCMOU) and paper setters at different universities.

  Faculty is sharing with Commerce and Statistics department.
  There is joint major research project of the department in collaboration with Commerce and Statistics department.

The students of this department joint through public service commission in Government Institutes & Other Departments. Most of the students are lecturer at senior colleges, Junior Colleges and High Schools. Some students became entrepreneurs. Faculty members of this department guide to the students about jobs opportunity and how to apply for different jobs.

• PG Students of the department presented the research paper at the national conference of Economics at Shri Khandelwal college Akola, R.A.College Washim, P.G.T.D.(RTM,University) Nagpur. on Sahitya Anee Samaj,Sahitya Anee Samajik Shastrye,Sahitay Anee Samajik Mullye.respectively.
• Ganesha Chimankar became an extension officer Z.P.Washim.
• Mr.Vasanta Ingale has qualified NET at twice. Now he is working as lecturer in Ramanand Arya Arts, Commerce & Science College Bhadup,East Mumbai.
• Ku.Prajkta Pohare is awarded “ Dady Deshamukha Memorial Award “for excellent performance in M.A.Eco. during 2008-2009

23. Plan of action of the department for next five years for
• Introduce new courses like Carrier Oriented Programme in the field of Applied Economics; each course is significant for the students to involve in an Industries and Departmental research activities.
• Increase the number of students of this department at various competitive examinations like Public Service Commission, Bank, UGC NET and Other Government Institutions etc.
• Extent the research activities for the regional development with collaboration of research originations and industries.

• Department was organized One day State Level Seminar on “Impact of Irrigation Backlog on Agriculture In Vidarbha Region.” On 29 March 2008. 37 students were participated in seminar.
• Interclass seminars competitions has arranged for the students of Economics, on “Impact of Inflation on Economic Development.” 28 students were participated and 7 students presented their papers on above subject.
• The PG student presents the research papers at National and International conferences. Total 9 students presented their research paper during last five years.
• Total 5 PG students published their research papers in Souvenir at National Conferences.
• Vasanta Ingale has completed M.Phil from SGB Amravati University.
• Department has organized Educational and Industrial tours at M.I.D.C. Akola, Hindustan Liver Limited and Parle Product Khamgaon.
